Very often, as being part of a software development team, we know how to push ourselves to improve and get close to 100% complete tasks.

THE PROBLEM IS…

we expect others to do the same and we don’t say much when a colleague does not do a complete task.

WHEN YOU LOOK AT A SITUATION IN WHICH A COLLEAGUE DID NOT COMPLETE THEY TASK ON TIME…

  • Did you say something about it?
  • Did you have a conversation with your colleague?
  • Did you look at what can be done in the future?
  • Did you share how it impacted you?

HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE ABOUT NOT DOING THEIR WORK PROPERLY IS NOT ALWAYS SIMPLE

That’s where the 5-step checklist comes in.

It helps you to prepare for the conversation and make sure you deal with the situation in a constructive way.

Just in case you’re saying to yourself…

“Yep, yep, yep, I know that having a conversation about what is not working would improve our performance as a team,

but I just don’t think I can do anything about it. They need to do something.”

I have something that YOU can do about it.

Hi! I’m Andra

and this is why I’ve created this tool

I have about 15 years of experience in software development, as a Software Engineer and Tech Lead, I am trained in communication and leadership, and for the last 3 years I’ve been supporting Tech Leads as a coach and trainer.

This experience has shown me the importance of having practices and tools in place to overcome the challenges we face in communicating with our work colleagues.

That’s why I support Tech Leads by giving them simple tools to communicate clearly and confidently.

I provide this quick-to-implement 5 step checklist to help you overcome frustration and realize that you have the power to have a greater impact on your colleagues.

This is how our work helped Razvan, Deniz and Diana!

The workshop Leaders Backpack hosted by Leaders Being Heard was one of the best I attended so far.
Great topics on the main issues that a leader may encounter at the very beginning of its career path and not only.
Andra as a fine coach and host, created a great space for discussions, keeping the attendees on track on their way of sharing and finding solutions for their day-to-day problems.
Being coached by a great professional like Andra, created a positive impact not only in our personal improvement, but was propagated to the people we are managing and finally to the entire organisation.
Besides being a coach Andra is a role model and an inspiring person.

Razvan, Tech Lead

I have been coached by Andra for 3 months and even after such a short period of time, I would say it was definitely the right decision to work with her.

Each session with her was a real eye-opener that helped me identify trigger moments when I feel uneasy, acknowledge the feeling and address the elephant in the room, instead of leaving it unresolved. With her guidance, I’ve been inspired to speak up for my concern and observations without any judgment or assumption and take the responsibility for my own feelings, not others.

It’s been an amazing self-discovery and is ongoing!

Deniz, Scrum Master

What I like best about my sessions with Andra, is that I find solutions for topics that are important to me and that I am not able to solve on my own. Andra combines coaching with her technical expertise in IT and is thus able to not only relate to the situations I bring to her, but also suggest very good ideas I can put in practice.

I am very happy that with Andra’s guidance, I have structured my work calendar in such a way I no longer feel overwhelmed at the end of the day and I have learned how to identify and control certain trigger points that allow me to significantly improve my communication in those delicate situations.

Diana, Technical Tribe Lead
